Terms of Service
This is a translation of the Korean original. If the two differ, the Korean version prevails.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using Rolls ("the Service") provided by Nerdens ("the Company"), and the rights and obligations of the Company and its users.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- Roll — a set of photos that opens only once a fixed number of frames (24) has been filled.
- Film — a consumable paid item that lets you start one roll.
- Developing — the change of state in which a roll's frames are all filled and the photos become visible.
- Voucher — a free item that can be exchanged for one roll of film of your choice.
Article 3 (Accounts)
Using the Service requires signing up with an Apple, Google or email account. You may not transfer or lend your account to anyone else. Except where the Company is wilfully or grossly negligent, the Company is not liable for damage arising from careless management of your account.
Article 4 (What the Service provides)
- The Company provides capture, film simulation, sealing and developing of rolls, invitations and shared shooting.
- A roll opens only when every frame is filled. It does not open through the passing of time; this is the core rule of the Service.
- The Company may add or adjust films. The film of a roll already in progress never changes.
Article 5 (Paid items)
- Film is a consumable, not a subscription. No recurring payment is taken.
- Payments are processed through the Apple App Store, and the Company does not hold your payment details.
- Film and vouchers already granted are not redeemable for cash and cannot be transferred between users.
- Refunds follow the separate Refund Policy.
Article 6 (User obligations)
You must not do any of the following.
- Take or share photos that infringe another person's likeness or copyright
- Produce or distribute illegally taken images, or otherwise break applicable law
- Exploit weaknesses in the Service or gain abnormal access by automated means
- Repeatedly create accounts in order to obtain vouchers
Article 7 (Rights in content)
Copyright in the photos you take belongs to you. The Company uses your photos only as far as providing the Service requires — storing them and delivering them to participants — and will ask for your separate, prior consent before using them for promotion or marketing.
Article 8 (Suspension of the Service)
The Company may suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance, natural disaster, or failures in third-party services, and will give notice where notice is possible.
Article 9 (Limitation of liability)
The Company is not liable for damage arising from your device, from network failures, or from your own intent or negligence. Where the Company is liable, liability is limited to the amount you paid over the preceding six months.
Article 10 (Changes and governing law)
The Company may change these terms and will give notice 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavourable to users). These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea, and disputes are brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
